Cultural Activities in Rhodes:
Each school can decide which excursion or cultural activity they are interested in before the arrival. In the following table you can find the cultural activities we offer, from the most famous and requested ones to the less frequently booked, but not less interesting.
Lindos half day - You will be captivated by the Acropolis crowning the 400-foot rocky cliff and the whitewashed town surrounded by the azure sea. There is a 20-minute climb through the narrow streets of the town, and up 250 steps to the Temple. Explore the ancient site of the last conquerors including the 4th century B.C. Doric temple of Athena and the double-winged portico. Other highlights include a Byzantine church and the remains of the castle citadel of the Knights of St. John. From the summit there are views of the fishing harbour of Psarto were tradition says St. Paul landed to evangelise the island.
Island tour all day - This excursion is for the traveler who also wishes to discover the authentic and non-touristy part of the island of Rhodes. Butterfly Valley half day - Butterfly Valley (Petaloudes) in Rhodes, Greece, can be a delightful experience. Butterfly Valley is known for its lush greenery and the presence of thousands of butterflies, especially during the summer months. Here's a suggested itinerary for your half-day visit. This valley is renowned for its unique ecological significance and the presence of the Jersey tiger moth (Euplagia quadripunctaria rhodosensis), a species of moth that is commonly referred to as the "Rhodes tiger moth." on the ruins of a Roman fortification during the reign of Abd-al-Rahman I, the first Emir of Cordoba, around 756-780 AD, the Alcazaba’s original purpose was to defend Málaga against pirates. It was possible thanks to its imposing position with incredible views over the city, to the sea and across to Africa, which can still be admired today.
Symi all day trip - This trip takes you to the perfectly formed Harbour of Symi, one of the most beautiful picture postcard Venetian villages with neo classical white and pastel coloured houses. You will have free time at your leisure to explore the quaint shops in search of natural sea sponges and cooking spices. Why not have a fresh fish lunch in the sunshine at one of the islands sea front taverns.
After lunch the boat sets sail to the south of the island, here along the inlet stands the massive building of Panormitis Monastery. This monastery is dedicated to the Archangel Michael and has a charming bell tower and a beautiful 12th century church. It is a well known spot of great interest and attracts many visitors and worshippers who come to see the Byzantine frescoes and engraved temple full of golden offerings.
